Review: The setting is the future on a desert planet known as Gunsmoke.”Vash the Stampede”, also known as the Humanoid Typhoon is widely known for single-handedly being responsible for the destruction of the city of July and the disappearance of its inhabitants. This has landed a bounty of $$60 billion on Vash’s head. The real Vash is more clumsy than fearsome who strongly believes in “love and peace” and refuses to take lives no matter what the cause. Ofcourse he can be deadly when he’s serious and is unsurpassed in gun-fighting skills. Trigun follows the story of Vash and the two insurance agents Meryl Strife and Milly Thompson of the Bernardelli Insurance Company whose job is to follow Vash and try to keep damages at a minimum. Although Trigun starts out very humurous, it later evolves into a serious emotional story with the pasts of the characters catching up to them.
Trigun begins with a very humurous tone and as it introduces Vash, Milly, Meryl, and later on Nicholas D. Wolfwood. Its got a lot of action and adventure and frankly, its just plain fun to watch. At the same time, a decent amount of character development takes place with all the characters – and especially Vash. As the story progresses, the plot gets more serious and emotional as Vash and Wolfwood are forced to confront their pasts. At a different level, it also questions the morale behind taking lives. Trigun is an all-time favourite which has the right balance between humour, action, adventure and depth of characters.
